Galadima Denies Kwankwaso’s Return to APC

Prominent New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) chieftain, Engr. Buba Galadima, has dismissed speculation surrounding the return of the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing such claims as false and politically motivated.

In a fiery interview with The Guardian, Galadima took direct aim at the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, calling him politically irrelevant and accusing him of using Kwankwaso’s name to stay in the public eye.

“I’m just hearing this from you. So, if we were going to join the APC, Nigerians would hear it from Ganduje? Even because of him, nobody would want to join APC,” Galadima said, dismissing recent reports.

The NNPP stalwart further criticized Ganduje’s political credibility, stating that he owes his current position solely to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“It is only Tinubu that can make Ganduje chairman of a party. How can Ganduje be chairman of anything?” he queried.

Galadima accused the APC leadership of being disorganized and desperate for relevance, alleging that they have resorted to peddling misinformation about the NNPP and its members.

“They are confused. Everything is falling apart across the country, so they try to stay in the press by dragging the NNPP. If they’re not saying Kwankwaso is working for Tinubu, they’ll claim he’s traveling to France to lobby the President,” Galadima stated.

He categorically denied any talks between Kwankwaso and the APC, insisting that the NNPP remains a focused and progressive platform.

“There is nothing like that. I can tell you as a matter of fact,” he said.

Taking a swipe at the APC’s apparent preoccupation with the 2027 elections, Galadima said, “Only political failures talk about the next election in the middle of their terms. We in the NNPP are concentrating on governance, not propaganda.”

His comments were in reaction to Ganduje’s recent assertion at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, where the chairman claimed Kwankwaso was expected to return to the ruling party, alleging that the NNPP had lost momentum following the 2023 general elections.
