Federal Government makes U-turn about schools reopening in the country

 

According to reports, Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba claimed that the Federal Government is not convinced that schools can reopen safely.

Nwajiuba said that the Ministry of Education was still looking to find if school reopening is going to be safe. The Minister said, “At the moment, we have not come to the point where we can say we are convinced that schools can manage themselves and reopen comfortably”.

He further continued, “Our teams have gone out and we will use the whole of this week and next week to do a proper evaluation”.

Well it is cleared that plan to fully reopen schools all round is still in doubt as the Federal Government claimed it is not yet convinced that schools should be reopened for academic routine and activities.

Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba cleared up that the Ministry of Education would study closely the level of compliance by academic equipment and facilities.

He mentioned the opinions of experts that schools remain a suspect place for the spread of the virus and that is why the Federal Government is trying to make school reopening safe.
