CJN tests positive for COVID-19, receives treatment in Dubai

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Tanko Muhammad

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Tanko Muhammad has been confirmed to have tested positive for COVID-19. He is currently in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, receiving treatment.

This disclosure was made by a  member of the Supreme Court, Justice Ibrahim Saulawa at the unveiling of the national headquarters of the Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN) on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, in Abuja.

The CJN was not present at the Monday swearing–in of 72 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria.

He was represented by the next most senior Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Olabode Rhodes-Vivour who administered oaths to the new SANs.
