Buhari presides over meeting of National Food Security Council

President Muhammadu Buhari presided over the National Food Security Council meeting on Thursday, September 10 2020 with six State Governor, Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, and some ministers in attendance.

The meeting also had in attendance the National Security Adviser (NSA) to the President, retired Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno and the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi.

The meeting was to deliberate on the recent hike in prices of foodstuff in the country.

The president had assured Nigerians that the situation is transient, saying his administration has already begun looking and putting in place measures to ameliorate the situation.
