In the current promotion exam for the post of Permanent Secretary in the nation, about 65 directors fell short of the qualifying standard. Only 20 directors out of the 85 originally invited to sit for promotion to the position of Permanent Secretary in the federal civil service completed the exercise, according to Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOS).
Esan added that four of the 85 applicants did not show up for the test, maybe out of fear of failing.
Director of Communications M.A. Ahmed of the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, OHCSF, also commented on the development, stating that to move on to the next round of the test, candidates must have a minimum score of 50%.
Ahmed went on to say that just 20 applicants were deemed competent for the test in information and communication technology (ICT).
