In a tragic event, terrorists launched a deadly assault on Ambe community in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday night, resulting in six fatalities and eight injuries.
Kaduna State’s Police Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan, confirmed the attack, revealing that authorities swiftly responded to a distress call. Police, alongside troops from Operation Safe Haven, engaged the assailants in a firefight, leading to the arrest of one suspect. However, the remaining perpetrators escaped into the forest with gunshot wounds.
Daniel Amos, the representative of Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, echoed the grim toll, stating that six individuals lost their lives, while eight sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical care. He condemned the attack as a deliberate attempt to disrupt the prevailing peace and security in the constituency.
Amos called for calm among residents of Sanga council and urged concerted efforts to address the insecurity in the area. Stressing the importance of fostering peaceful coexistence, he appealed to security agencies to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators and ensure justice is served.
Expressing condolences to the bereaved families, Arak chiefdom, Sanga council, and the state government, Amos also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured victims.
