Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has shared an emotional account of her ongoing separation from her children, amid reported marital troubles with her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Monday night, the actress posted a video of a video call with her two sons, Prince Munir Nwoko (Moon) and Prince Khalifa Nwoko (Kharly). During the call, Regina presented the children with gifts including toys, clothes and shoes, but the emotional highlight came when one of the boys pleaded with her, saying, “Mama, come back.”
Responding with visible emotion, Regina replied, “I will come soon, OK,” as the children urged her to take care of herself and expressed their love for her.
In the caption accompanying the video, Regina reflected on the pain of being separated from her children, insisting that her silence should not be mistaken for happiness.
“People may believe that I am happy, but no mother can be at peace while separated from her children,” she wrote. “I chose not to allow that pain to define or imprison me, which is why it took time for me to walk away.”
The actress also criticised her estranged husband’s recent social media posts featuring their children. Senator Nwoko had shared a family video on Sunday with the caption, “Sundays are for slowing down, reconnecting, and doing what truly matters.”
Reacting to this, Regina questioned his motives, stating that such actions raise concerns about whether public engagement is being prioritised over genuine parental responsibility.
“These actions make it reasonable to question whether his behaviour is motivated by public engagement rather than parental responsibility,” she wrote.
Regina disclosed that her last conversation with her children took place in mid-November, adding that she initially chose silence to avoid media attention. However, she said she felt compelled to speak out following the emotional toll of the separation.
Reaffirming her commitment as a mother, the actress stated that no one should mistake her absence for weakness.
“I am left to wonder whether I am truly such a threat that I am being challenged so aggressively,” she said. “I may be young, but I am a mum. I enjoy being a mum, and I miss being a mum. It’s so crazy if their father thinks I won’t come for my children. I will definitely see my kids soon.”
The post has since sparked widespread reactions online, with fans and colleagues expressing support for the actress and calling for a peaceful resolution in the interest of the children.
