Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Thursday held a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Makinde arrived at the State House shortly after Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), paid a visit to the President.
The Oyo State governor was ushered directly into President Tinubu’s office, sparking renewed political interest amid ongoing realignments ahead of future elections.
Makinde is a prominent member of the G5 group of PDP governors who openly opposed the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. The group eventually worked against the PDP at the polls and supported Tinubu’s successful presidential bid.
The details of the meeting were not disclosed as of the time of filing this report.
