Macaroni Blasts Tinubu as Fresh Wave of School Abductions Rocks Niger, Kebbi

Social activist and popular skit maker, Debo Adebayo — widely known as Mr Macaroni — has taken a swipe at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the growing cases of terrorism and mass kidnappings across the country.

In a strongly worded post shared on his X page on Friday, Macaroni accused the President of failing to fulfil his promise to secure Nigerians, describing the recurring abduction of schoolchildren as a clear sign of “incompetence.”

He wrote:
“President Tinubu, you said you had all the answers to end terrorism! You said any President who could not protect the people is incompetent! Any school child that has been abducted is a result of your incompetence!! The blood of Nigerians being shed as an act of terrorism is on your head!!!”

His remarks came in the wake of a disturbing attack in Niger State, where terrorists invaded St. Mary’s School, a Catholic institution in Papiri community, Agwara Local Government Area, and kidnapped several students and staff.

Authorities have yet to release the exact number of abductees, as the school was still reconciling its records at press time. The Kotangora Catholic Diocese confirmed the incident in an official statement.

Efforts to reach the Niger State Police Command were unsuccessful, as the command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, did not respond to calls.

Friday’s attack occurred just days after terrorists struck a government school in Kebbi State, abducting no fewer than 25 students, further deepening national concern over worsening insecurity.
