Light Drama as Nasarawa Gov, Sule, Woos Adamawa’s Fintiri to APC with ‘Tinubu Cap’

Yola, Adamawa State — There was mild drama on Monday when the Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, publicly hinted at persuading his Adamawa State counterpart, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Sule made the remarks during the presentation of a book titled “Fintiri, the Man They Could Not Stop”, where he playfully disclosed that he came prepared with a cap associated with President Bola Tinubu, should Fintiri consider defecting to the APC.

According to Sule, Governor Fintiri has the APC “in his DNA,” adding that both leaders share similar political values and perspectives.

“You have the APC in your DNA. We’re on the same page with you. I even came with a Tinubu infinity cap in case you’re thinking of joining the APC,” Sule said amid laughter.

He further referenced recent political realignments across the country, noting that the APC had made inroads into several states, including Delta, Enugu, Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Kano, Plateau, and Taraba.

“Who knows? This might be another expedition I’ve come to undertake,” he added.

Striking a more serious tone, Governor Sule spoke on the challenges of leadership, especially from the perspective of a second-term governor.

“I understand the weight of leadership, the loneliness of decision-making, and the courage it takes to govern under pressure,” he said.

Sule emphasized that true leadership is not about seeking popularity but about clarity of purpose, consistency in service, patience, and the fear of God.

The comments sparked reactions among attendees, though Governor Fintiri did not publicly respond to the defection remarks at the event.
