COVID-19: Lagos tops chart as Nigeria records 161 new cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday, July 12, 2021, announced 161 confirmed new cases of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in the country.

Of the 161 new cases recorded in Nigeria, 153 cases were from Lagos.

New cases of the pandemic have continued to rise for seven consecutive weeks across Africa including Nigeria, signaling the third wave as Nigeria confirmed the deadly Delta variants.

74 cases from Lagos State were reported on the 11th of July, 2021.

Four states with zero cases reported: Ekiti, Kaduna, Nasarawa, and Ogun,” NCDC said.

As of Monday July 12, there are 2,113 active cases in Nigeria.
