Lagos State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun, has called on all schools to strictly follow approved public health and safety protocols as the second term begins on January 12.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by Mr. Kayode Sutton, Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Alli-Balogun revealed that government officials have been deployed across the state to inspect schools and ensure compliance with established safety standards.

The commissioner also commended teachers, parents, and guardians for their continued support in ensuring the smooth operation of the state’s education sector. “All should make sure that their wards are adequately prepared for the resumption of academic activities for the new term,” he said.

The resumption applies to all public and private primary and secondary schools, as well as government technical colleges across Lagos State, in line with the official 2025/2026 academic calendar. All schools are expected to commence academic and administrative activities immediately upon reopening.

Alli-Balogun reassured the public of the state government’s commitment to providing a safe and conducive learning environment for students.
