Lagos APC Launches Statewide Electronic Membership Registration

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced a statewide electronic membership registration exercise aimed at building a comprehensive and credible digital database of party members.

The e-registration drive, which began on Monday, will run until the end of January and covers all wards across the state. It targets both existing members and new entrants into the party.

Announcing the initiative in a statement, the Lagos APC spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, said the move is designed to strengthen internal democracy, improve the accuracy of party records, and enhance preparedness ahead of future electoral activities.

According to Oladejo, the adoption of digital registration will help eliminate issues such as duplication and impersonation, ensuring that every party member is properly documented and verifiable.

“The electronic registration process guarantees equal recognition for both long-standing members and new entrants, while effectively curbing gatekeeping and promoting transparency within the party’s structures,” he said.

He stressed that a credible and reliable membership register is critical for conducting transparent congresses, primaries, and leadership selection processes.

Oladejo also noted that the initiative is expected to boost participation among youths, professionals, and first-time political actors, while strengthening grassroots coordination and overall electoral readiness.

The APC spokesman called on party members across Lagos State to actively participate in the exercise, describing it as a collective responsibility essential to the party’s growth and democratic consolidation.
