Former Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has dismissed rumours that he regrets swapping Stamford Bridge for the Emirates, insisting he’s “really happy” at Arsenal.

The Spanish shot-stopper, who joined the Gunners from Chelsea for £5 million after an initial loan spell at Bournemouth, says he’s been “amazed” by the quality and character within Mikel Arteta’s squad.

“It’s been really good, really good,” Kepa told Arsenal’s official website. “I’m really happy to be here and I feel I’m already adapting myself in the team. It’s such a nice group of people and that makes everything easier.”

The 29-year-old, once the world’s most expensive goalkeeper after his £72 million move from Athletic Bilbao to Chelsea in 2018, has made just one appearance for Arsenal so far but insists he’s “really enjoying” life in north London.

“There haven’t been any surprises really. How a changing room works is always quite similar. But what I would say is that the quality of people here – on and off the pitch – is really amazing,” he added.

After the international break, Arsenal will resume their Premier League campaign with a London derby against Fulham this weekend.
