Kebbi Government Debunks Bandit Attack Report, Says Incident Happened in Niger State

The Kebbi State Government has dismissed reports claiming that bandits attacked Maku-ku village in Sakaba Local Government Area, describing the story as false and misleading.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ahmed Idris, in a statement on Monday, said the alleged incident, aired by a local FM station in Birnin Kebbi, did not occur in Kebbi but in Rijau, Niger State.

“There was no such incident in Kebbi. The report is misleading and capable of causing unnecessary panic,” Idris said, urging the radio station to retract the broadcast and tender a public apology.

He added that the military base established in Sakaba by the state government had significantly strengthened security in the area.

The governor’s spokesperson encouraged residents to remain calm and go about their normal activities, assuring that security agencies in the state are fully supported to maintain peace and stability.
