Kebbi Assembly Speaker Muhammad Usman Ankwai Dies, State Mourns

The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammad Usman Ankwai, has passed away.

Ankwai, who represented Zuru Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), died on Monday night. The circumstances surrounding his death were not immediately disclosed as of the time of this report.

He was elected Speaker following the inauguration of the 10th Kebbi State House of Assembly on June 8, 2023.

News of his passing has sparked an outpouring of grief and tributes from fellow lawmakers, political associates, and residents across Kebbi State. Many have described him as a committed public servant who played a significant role in strengthening legislative activities in the state.
