Kano Assembly in Mourning as Two Sitting Lawmakers Die Within Hours

Kano State has been plunged into deep mourning following the sudden deaths of two serving members of the State House of Assembly, who passed away within a short interval.

Sarki Aliyu Daneji, the lawmaker representing Kano Municipal Local Government Area, died shortly after news broke of the death of another legislator, Aminu Sa’adu, who represented Ungoggo Local Government Area.

The near-simultaneous loss of the two lawmakers has sent shockwaves across the state, particularly within political circles, given their active involvement in legislative activities at the Assembly.

The death of Sarki Aliyu Daneji was confirmed by the spokesperson to the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa. He announced the development via a post on his official Facebook page.

As of the time of filing this report, details surrounding the circumstances of their deaths have not been officially disclosed.

Condolences have continued to pour in from government officials, colleagues, and residents of the state, who described the incident as a painful loss to Kano’s legislative arm and the communities the lawmakers represented.
