Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado has been reinstated as Chairman of the Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission (PCACC) by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to complete his five-year term after being suspended by the previous administration due to “questionable circumstances.”

Sanusi Bature, the governor’s chief press secretary, indicated in a press release that Magaji’s quick reinstatement was following the court’s ruling.

In January 2023, the Kano State House of Assembly requested that Magaji be fired so his dismissal letter was dated January 24, 2023, and Alhaji Usman Alhaji, the former secretary to the Kano State Government, signed it.

Magaji, however, brought the state’s House of Assembly, attorney general, and state administration to the National Industrial Court to contest his dismissal from office.

In the course of the hearing, the court determined that the Kano State House of Assembly lacked the legal authority to propose Muhuyi be removed from office without a fair hearing and has now ordered his immediate reinstatement.
