The Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, Johnson Suleman, has strongly condemned Nigeria’s leadership following the recent deadly attack in Jos, describing it as further evidence of governance failure.
In a statement shared via his social media platform, Suleman criticized political leaders for prioritizing personal and political interests over the safety and welfare of citizens.
According to him, the incident in Jos reflects a deeper problem within the nation’s leadership structure, which he said continues to neglect its primary responsibility of protecting lives.
“Jos attack is another sign that leadership is failing,” he stated, adding that it reveals “leadership that puts politics before protecting people’s lives.”
The cleric also decried what he described as misplaced priorities among public officials, accusing them of focusing on political activities rather than addressing the country’s growing insecurity.
He further warned that history would judge current leaders harshly, especially if they continue to tolerate or enable conditions they once opposed.
While reaffirming his belief in the power of prayer, Suleman stressed that spiritual efforts alone are not sufficient to address national challenges.
“I believe in the power of prayers, but prayers alone cannot take the place of responsibility. We need compassionate leaders. These current individuals show no sign of empathy. We’re exhausted, it’s incredibly draining,” he said.
He concluded by expressing condolences to families affected by the attack, offering prayers for strength and comfort as they cope with their loss.
“We support the families who lost their loved ones and pray for strength to face the unbearable pain of their loss,” he added.
