The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced an extension of the ongoing Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection exercise in Anambra State to November 2, 2025, granting eligible voters additional time to obtain their cards ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.

In a statement issued on Monday in Awka, the Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, confirmed that the decision followed numerous appeals from citizens and stakeholders seeking more time for collection.

“The Commission has approved the extension of the ongoing PVC collection in Anambra from October 29 to November 2. The decision was reached during a meeting held on October 27, after several requests from the public and interest groups for additional time to enable eligible voters collect their cards,” the statement read.

Eta-Messi urged all registered voters who are yet to collect their PVCs to take advantage of this final window, emphasizing that collection would continue at designated centres across the 326 Registration Areas (Wards) in the state.

She clarified that the exercise covers individuals who registered during the recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and reminded the public that collection must be done in person, as no proxy collection will be permitted.

INEC reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all eligible voters are given the opportunity to participate fully in the electoral process. The Anambra State governorship election is scheduled to hold on November 8, 2025.
