Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the redeployment of Commissioners of Police to eight state commands and several strategic formations of the Nigeria Police Force.
The postings, approved by the Police Service Commission, are aimed at strengthening operational efficiency, enhancing intelligence-led policing and advancing ongoing reforms within the Force.
The development was disclosed in a statement on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu.
The newly appointed Commissioners of Police to the eight states are Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo for Abia State; Ayodeji Faniyan for Plateau; Saka Adewale Ajao for Bayelsa; Ajo Geoffrey Ordue for Cross River; Nanna Oji Ama for Anambra; Patrick Daaor for Edo; Tani Murtala for Jigawa; and Samuel Erale for Delta State.
The IGP also approved the deployment of other senior officers to key departments and formations, including the Force Intelligence Department, Force Criminal Investigation Department, Department of Finance and Administration, Department of Training and Development, Police Academy and Police Staff College.
Among the officers affected are CP Yemi John Oyeniyi, deployed to the Force Intelligence Department in Abuja; CP Charles Ezekwesiri Dike, posted to the Department of Finance and Administration/Department of Training and Development at Force Headquarters; and CP Aina Adesola, deployed to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the FCID Annex in Alagbon, Lagos.
Others include CP Uduak Ita Otu, CP Abdullateef Ajape Yusuf, CP Taiwo A. Adedeji, CP Ajayi Oluyemi, CP Bolanle Aremu, CP Ibrahim Lukunche Usman, CP Mohammed Hassan Ahmed, CP Rita Oyintare Oki and CP Ibrahim Umar D. Zungura, who have been assigned to various strategic formations.
The redeployment also affects CP Nelson Nwamana, posted to the Police Academy in Kano; CP Mohammed Hassan Ahmed, appointed Deputy Commandant of the Police Staff College, Jos; CP Rita Oyintare Oki, deployed to the Department of Finance and Administration at the Force Headquarters Annex in Lagos; and CP Danbaba Mohammed Labbo, posted to the FCID Annex in Gombe.
Disu charged the newly deployed officers to bring their experience to bear in strengthening intelligence-led policing, improving operational effectiveness, promoting professionalism and deepening collaboration between the police and the communities they serve.
He also urged them to remain committed to protecting lives and property while upholding discipline, accountability and the highest standards of professional policing.
The latest postings are part of the Nigeria Police Force’s broader reform efforts to strengthen operational capacity, improve institutional efficiency and enhance service delivery across the country.
