AWKA — Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has dismissed as “fabrications” the claim that she and her husband, Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, were part of the administration of the late former governor, Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju.
Dr. Soludo made the clarification in a statement on Wednesday in Awka, following a viral video in which Senator Uche Ekwunife alleged that the governor and his wife had ties to Mbadinuju’s government.
Ekwunife, who is the deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming November 8 election, had accused the Soludos of lacking the moral standing to criticise past administrations.
Reacting, Mrs. Soludo described the allegation as baseless, stressing that she had never at any time met the late Mbadinuju.
“For the records, I never met Dr. Mbadinuju of blessed memory. Never,” she stated. “I cannot dignify Ekwunife’s fabrications with a response. Not at all! I am too busy with my children as schools resume. Besides, I cannot condescend to replying to inanities and fabrications.”
She added that the claims were “pitiable and laughable,” urging the public to disregard them.
