Sophia Momodu, entrepreneur and mother of singer Davido’s first child, Imade, has cautioned fans and content creators against referring to her as the music star’s wife.
Speaking in a video that has since circulated online, Momodu expressed shock at how some people still address her as “Davido’s wife” despite the fact that they ended their relationship many years ago and the singer is now married.
She stressed that such labels are inaccurate and disrespectful, urging the public to respect personal boundaries, individual choices, and existing marriages.
Recounting a recent encounter, Momodu said a content creator began hailing her as “Mama Imade, OBO’s wife,” a remark she described as surprising and inappropriate.
“I am not his wife,” she stated firmly. “Stop referring to me as Davido’s wife. Let’s respect people’s marriages and rules. If people have moved on, allow them to move on in peace.”
She emphasised that she has moved on with her life and encouraged fans to do the same, noting that everyone involved is focused on their own paths and responsibilities.
Momodu’s comments have sparked conversations online about respect, boundaries, and the tendency of fans to cling to past relationships involving public figures.
