The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Abdulrasheed Abdullahi Maina, former Chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), wanted.
The commission announced this on Wednesday in a post on its verified X handle, signed by its Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale.
Maina was at the centre of a multi-billion-naira pension fraud scandal and spent years as a fugitive. He has also been involved in several high-profile legal battles.
In November 2021, a Federal High Court in Abuja convicted him of money laundering offences involving more than ₦2 billion. The EFCC had arraigned him in October 2019 on a 12-count charge, to which he pleaded not guilty.
He was later released from the Kuje Correctional Centre after serving his jail term for the pension-related fraud conviction.
