Gunmen Abduct Plateau Lawmaker from Home

JOS — Gunmen have reportedly abducted Hon. Laven Denty, a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly representing Pankshin South Constituency, from his home in the Dong area of Jos North Local Government Area.

The incident adds to Plateau State’s ongoing battle with insecurity. DAILY POST recalls that last week, gunmen also stormed Dong community, abducting a serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member and a University of Jos student. The attackers reportedly broke into Solomon Dansura’s residence around 10 p.m., taking his two young guests in the process.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from state authorities or confirmation from the Plateau State Police Command.

The growing wave of kidnappings in the region continues to raise concerns over security measures in Plateau State.
