FG, States, LGs Share N2.1 Trillion September Revenue — FAAC Reports

The Federal Government, states, and local government councils shared a total of N2.103 trillion as Federation Account revenue for September 2025, marking a slight decline from the N2.2 trillion distributed in August.

This was revealed in a communiqué signed by Bawa Mokwa, spokesperson of the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, following the October 2025 meeting of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) held in Abuja.

According to the communiqué, the total distributable revenue for the month comprised N1.239 trillion from statutory revenue, N812.593 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), and N51.684 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).

The report showed that N3.054 trillion gross revenue was available in September. From this amount, N116.149 billion was deducted as cost of collection, while N835.005 billion went into transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings.

FAAC disclosed that gross statutory revenue for September stood at N2.128 trillion, lower than the N2.838 trillion recorded in August by N710.134 billion. Meanwhile, VAT revenue rose to N872.630 billion, compared to N722.619 billion in August — an increase of N150.011 billion.

From the N2.103 trillion shared, the Federal Government received N711.314 billion, State Governments got N727.170 billion, and Local Government Councils received N529.954 billion. Additionally, N134.956 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was distributed to oil-producing states as derivation funds.

A further breakdown showed that out of the N1.239 trillion statutory revenue, the Federal Government received N581.672 billion, States got N295.032 billion, and LGAs received N227.457 billion, alongside the N134.956 billion derivation allocation.

From VAT revenue (N812.593 billion), the Federal Government received N121.889 billion, while States and LGAs got N406.297 billion and N284.408 billion respectively.

For the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (N51.684 billion), N7.753 billion went to the Federal Government, N25.842 billion to the States, and N18.089 billion to the LGAs.

The communiqué further noted that revenue from Import Duty, VAT, and EMTL rose significantly in the month, while Companies Income Tax (CIT) and CET Levies declined. Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) recorded a marginal increase, whereas Oil and Gas Royalty and Excise Duty dipped slightly.
