Fear of ADC Signals Wisdom, Says Party Chieftain

Ladan Salihu, a senior official of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has stated that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) should view its apprehension of the opposition party as “the beginning of wisdom.”

Salihu criticized the APC for its “suspicious” posture, accusing the party of attempting to downplay the struggles of Nigerians and portray a false narrative of national progress amid widespread poverty and governance failures.

He further alleged that the Tinubu administration and the APC have deployed significant resources against the ADC, including court actions initiated through proxies, aimed at deregistering the party.

“Let me say we expect a lot of literature and prose from the minders of a failing government,” Salihu said. “They try to subsidize the truth, to make it look like Nigerians are not suffering, and to suggest the nation is improving under selective misgovernance. The fear of the ADC is the beginning of wisdom for the APC, which is why they have raised all guns against our party.”

Highlighting the ADC’s growth, Salihu noted recent defections of nine senators from other parties to the ADC, and emphasized the party’s nationwide presence with offices in all 36 states. He said the party is consolidating opposition forces to challenge what he described as a government that has rendered Nigeria’s democracy “almost a laughing stock in the international community.”
