Enugu Governor Peter Mbah Set to Join APC with Entire Cabinet Next Week

Enugu-Tribunal-Affirms-Peter-Mbah-as-Governor

Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, is reportedly on the verge of dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The development was confirmed in Abuja on Friday by the APC National Chairman, Dr. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, and the party’s Deputy National Chairman (South-East), Chief Emma Eneukwu, during the swearing-in of the newly inaugurated Enugu State caretaker committee.

The committee, chaired by former state chairman Ben Nwoye, was inaugurated at the APC national headquarters, where party leaders disclosed that Mbah’s defection will be formally announced at a grand event in Enugu next week.

Confirming the move, Nwoye revealed that the governor will be joining the ruling party alongside all his appointees, signaling a major political realignment in the South-East state.

Meanwhile, speculations are also rife that Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, may soon follow suit by defecting to the APC.

The defection wave underscores the ruling party’s growing influence across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.
