Elon Musk has made history as the first individual to surpass a net worth of $600 billion, with his fortune now estimated at $677 billion, according to Forbes.
The dramatic surge in Musk’s wealth is largely attributed to the rapid rise in the valuation of his private space exploration company, SpaceX. Earlier this month, SpaceX carried out a tender offer that valued the company at a staggering $800 billion—double its August valuation of $400 billion—sources familiar with the deal told Forbes.
Musk owns approximately 42 percent of SpaceX, and the revised valuation alone added an estimated $168 billion to his personal wealth. Forbes now values his SpaceX stake at about $336 billion, making it the most valuable asset in his portfolio.
The milestone further cements Musk’s position as the richest person in modern history, underscoring the growing financial and strategic importance of SpaceX as it expands its role in global satellite communications, space transport, and exploration.
