Staff, Students receive reinstated UNILAG VC, Ogundipe

Staff members of the University of Lagos, UNILAG, and students on Thursday, November 12, 2020, received the reinstated Vice-Chancellor, Oluwatoyin Ogundipe as he resumes office.

Professor Ogundipe resumed office after his reinstatement by President Muhammadu Buhari following the report of the panel of inquiry set up to investigate the allegations of infractions and gross misconduct levied against him.

Ogundipe was asked to ‘step aside’ by the Visitor of the university pending the outcome of the investigation.

He was received by members of staff of UNILAG, including top management personnel, at the Senate Building foyer when he resumed work in company of his wife.

While addressing the crowd at the Senate Building foyer, Ogundipe urged the workers to allow peace to reign in the institution.

He said, “Let us all be united. It is not about the academic or non-academic staff; it is about UNILAG. Let us all work together and allow peace in this institution.”
