ABUJA — The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has thrown its weight behind former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, describing him as a leader with the right vision and actionable plans to transform Nigeria.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday, CUPP’s National Secretary, Peter Umeh, said Obi’s leadership style goes beyond the quest for power, stressing that he represents a refreshing departure from politics-as-usual.
“What I want to tell people is that Peter Obi will get it right. He will get it right for the good of our people,” Umeh said.
He emphasized that Obi’s focus is not just on occupying office, but on entering office with concrete policies and ensuring their full implementation.
“It’s not about trying to be in office; it’s about trying to get into office with a plan and making sure these plans are executed,” he added.
Umeh also dismissed concerns that four years may be too short to make an impact in governance, noting that determined leadership can achieve significant progress within the constitutional timeframe.
