Anambra seals off hotel over death of female clubber

0

In response to the murder of a young woman within the hotel’s club, the Anambra State Government has closed down a well-known hotel in the state capital of Awka.

The woman, whose name was given as Chinyere, allegedly stole money that was being sprayed on a birthday celebrant by his buddies last weekend and was beaten to death by other clubgoers.

According to sources, the young woman’s body was put in the hotel pool on Sunday morning before being discovered.

The details of what transpired were described differently. A source claimed that the dead picked up cash that had been sprayed on a clubgoer celebrating a birthday, but another claimed that she went for the bundle of cash that one of the clubgoers had kept by his side and was about to spray on the celebrant.

According to one of the individuals, “One of the clubbers accused her of grabbing money that the fun seekers were spraying on their friend who was celebrating a birthday.

Another person stated: “Some others said she did not only pick money but went for bundles of money, which a clubber stacked by his seat side, waiting to spray on the celebrant.”

Yet another source, a regular clubber in the facility, alleged that: “Some of these girls just dress up and come to the club and begin to pick money. While you’re spraying your friends, these girls will just be picking and pocketing the money. Because men are already drunk in clubs, the girls get away with the money. I was not at the club last weekend, but I heard that the girl went for money that someone kept by his seat side, which he was getting prepared to go and spray. That was what happened.”

According to sources, attempts to protect the young woman from the irate males failed since they kept beating her. Her lifeless body, it was rumored, was later hauled outside the club and thrown into the hotel’s pool.

In the meantime, DSP Tochukwu Ikéngà, the state’s police public relations officer, verified the horrible occurrence and stated that the birthday celebrant and his pals have been arrested and that an investigation has started.

Contrary to what others are saying about the hotel’s alleged cooperation, the hotel’s management helped us arrest the individuals. He stated that the investigation was still ongoing.

Don Onyenji, the commissioner of culture, entertainment, and tourism, claimed that the hotel had been sealed.

The hotel has been sealed off and we have visited it. The site will remain sealed while the police conduct their investigation, he added. “We are in contact with the police, who are already looking into the situation.
