The Decoy Team of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has detained Sunday Osagie, 31, who was caught on camera with the skit maker, on the basis of a widely shared video from the skit maker, Ekwutousi Philo, in which she claims that she was robbed on October 20 along the Ketu-Alapere Highway by several police officers.
Ayodele Adeolu (45) has also been arrested alongside the suspect. Additionally, a Toyota Yaris Verso with registration number FST 656 JD and a “korope” with registration number LA 910 FST have been found.
In May 2011, Osagie worked for the Lagos State Government as a mechanic and spy.
After appearing before the Personnel Management Board (PMB), he was demoted and removed from the Lagos State Public Service in April 2023 for “six months of absence from duty without permission, illegal duties, and extortion of money from innocent citizens.”
The Rapid Response Squad Commander, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, has ordered that the suspects and the recovered cars be sent to the State Command for additional examination.
