Court Orders Police to Maintain Status Quo on Tinted Glass Permit Case

The Federal High Court in Warri has ordered the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector-General of Police to maintain the status quo in the ongoing legal battle over the controversial tinted glass permit.

The case, marked Suit No. FHC/WR/CS/103/2025: John Aikpokpo-Martins v. Inspector-General of Police & Nigeria Police Force, came up for hearing on Thursday.

In an interim ruling, the court directed the police authorities to respect judicial processes pending the continuation of proceedings.

Speaking on the development, Kunle Edun, SAN, who led the legal team, described the directive as a significant step toward safeguarding the rule of law while the substantive issues are being resolved.
