The Coalition of Nigerian Youths on Security and Safety Affairs (CONYSSA) has appointed Dr. Samuel Anisulowo Olawale as Director, Directorate for Diaspora and Diplomatic Relations, effective 19 January 2026 to 18 January 2028. This strategic appointment by the CONYSSA Board of Trustees aims to strengthen engagement with the Nigerian youth diaspora and enhance national security efforts through structured diplomatic relations.
CONYSSA serves as the official national platform uniting youth organisations across Nigeria focused on security and safety, including both uniformed and non-uniformed groups. Inaugurated in 2020 as a post-COVID-19 security response initiative, the coalition mobilises Nigerian youths for empowerment, inclusion, peacebuilding, civic responsibility, and national development. With offices and networks spanning all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, CONYSSA collaborates with federal and state Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), and security institutions to align policies and drive sustainable impact.
National Director General, Amb. Ade Mario Emmanuel, commended Dr. Olawale’s proven experience and expertise to lead the Diaspora and Diplomatic Relations Directorate for Nigerian youth diaspora matters. In this role, Dr. Olawale will act as Chief Executive and Security Officer for CONYSSA in the diaspora, addressing security challenges faced by Nigerian youths globally and proposing solutions to the Director General.
Key responsibilities include representing Nigerian youth diaspora in diplomatic engagements, responding to security issues on behalf of the Director General, organising targeted programmes in countries with challenges for Nigerian youths, and executing additional mandates as directed. The two-year tenure begins with a six-month probation, subject to confirmation based on bi-monthly progress reports.
This new CONYSSA Directorate for Diaspora and Diplomatic Relations underscores the organisation’s commitment to complementing Nigeria’s national security architecture through proactive youth involvement worldwide.
