Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has officially parted ways with South African club Chippa United after four years of service.
The club confirmed the development in a statement released on Thursday, disclosing that the Nigerian international submitted a formal transfer request seeking to leave the club.
Despite signing a three-year contract extension in 2024, the 29-year-old shot-stopper was granted his release following discussions with the club’s management.
“Chippa United Football Club has agreed to grant his release and wishes him success in the next chapter of his career,” the statement said.
The club also praised Nwabali for his professionalism and dedication during his time with the Chilli Boys.
“We would like to sincerely thank Stanley Nwabali for the years of service, commitment, and professionalism he has shown during his time at Chippa United Football Club. His contribution to the club will always be appreciated.”
Nwabali joined Chippa United in 2021 and has since established himself as one of the standout goalkeepers in the South African league, a form that earned him a regular place in Nigeria’s national team.
