Global music icon Celine Dion has announced her long-awaited return to the stage, marking a major milestone after stepping away from performing due to a rare neurological condition.
In a heartfelt video shared with fans on her birthday, the 58-year-old singer revealed that her health has significantly improved and she is ready to resume live performances. She described the opportunity to perform again as “the best birthday gift” she could receive.
“I’m doing great, managing my health, feeling good,” Dion said, reassuring supporters who have followed her journey since her diagnosis.
The singer first disclosed in December 2022 that she had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a debilitating condition that causes muscle stiffness and spasms, forcing her to cancel scheduled tours indefinitely. Though incurable, treatment can help manage symptoms.
Dion’s battle with the condition was documented in the 2024 film I Am: Celine Dion, which offered an intimate look into her life, including the physical challenges she endured.
Despite the setbacks, she remained determined to return to performing. That resilience was evident when she delivered a memorable performance from the Eiffel Tower during the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Now, Dion is set to headline a series of 10 shows at the Paris La Défense Arena, beginning September 12, spanning five weeks.
With a career spanning decades, over 260 million albums sold, and multiple Grammy Awards—including for her iconic hit “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic—Dion’s return signals a powerful comeback for one of the world’s most celebrated vocalists.
Her message to fans was clear and emotional: their unwavering support carried her through her darkest moments, and now, she is ready to sing again.
