Fire guts Access Bank in Lagos


Fire engulfed the Access Bank branch on Adetokunbo Ademola Street, in the Victoria Island area of Lagos State on Wednesday, 26 August 2020.

It was gathered that the fire started as a truck-laden with diesel was offloading diesel for the generators of the bank when it advertently caught fire in the process and a stationary car and the truck got completely razed by the fire on the bank’s premises.

Although there was no loss of life as at the time of filing this report, the Director-General, Lagos State Emergecny Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu has confirmed the combined intervention of emergency responders (LASEMA Response Team, Eko Hotel, Lagos Fire service, UBA Fire Service, and Federal Fre Service who have made efforts to salvage the situation and stop the fire from escalating.
