The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed a lawsuit against Rochas Okorocha, the former governor of Imo State, but a high court in the Federal Capital Territory dismissed it.

On Friday, the Court declared that the EFCC’s accusations of fraud and abuse of power against Okorocha constituted a misuse of the legal system.

According to the presiding judge, Justice Yusuf Halilu, the former governor of Imo State had faced a similar charge from the EFCC at the Federal High Court, which had been dismissed in December of the previous year.
