Bode George Expresses Shock as Enugu Governor Peter Mbah Dumps PDP for APC

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has expressed surprise over the defection of Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, George said he never anticipated Mbah’s move despite several reconciliatory efforts by party elders.

“I never saw it at any time. In fact, when Anyanwu was brought back as secretary to complete his assignment, he asked his people not to attend meetings,” George lamented.

Governor Mbah had earlier on Tuesday officially announced his exit from the PDP.

While wishing the governor well in his new political home, George maintained that the PDP remains strong and resilient despite the wave of defections rocking the party.
