Benue Rep Aspirant, Inalegwu Adaje, Resigns from APC

Benue State, Nigeria – October 14, 2025 — A House of Representatives aspirant for the Ado, Okpokwu, and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency in Benue State, Inalegwu Ejembi Adaje, has formally resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing a departure from the party’s founding democratic ideals.

In a letter dated October 13, 2025, and addressed to the APC Ward Chairman of Ingle/Okpale Ward, Edumoga Ehaje, Okpokwu Local Government Area, Adaje stated that his decision followed “careful reflection and wide consultations with key stakeholders, associates, and respected leaders.”

Adaje said his resignation was driven by a desire to remain true to his core political values, particularly fairness, justice, and accountability—principles he claimed the party no longer upholds.

“This decision comes after careful reflection and wide consultations. It is driven by my commitment to uphold the principles of justice, accountability, and true democratic values—principles which I no longer find aligned with the current direction and internal workings of the party,” he wrote.

While expressing gratitude to the APC for the opportunities afforded him during his membership, Adaje noted that he could no longer continue under a party structure he believes has “lost touch with its original values.”

“I sincerely appreciate the privilege of association and the opportunities for service afforded me during my time as a member of the APC. I also thank the party’s leadership and colleagues for their support and cooperation,” the letter concluded.

Adaje’s resignation marks a significant political move in Benue State’s evolving political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
