German champions Bayern Munich have reignited their interest in Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen as uncertainty surrounds Harry Kane’s long-term future at the Allianz Arena.
Head coach Vincent Kompany is understood to be a strong admirer of the Nigerian striker and views him as a potential successor to Kane, whose contract renewal remains unresolved amid reported interest from Barcelona and several Premier League clubs.
Although Kane is only in his third season in Bavaria, the England captain has delivered a remarkable return of 130 goals in 133 competitive appearances, cementing his place among Bayern’s most prolific forwards. However, with no extension agreed, the Bundesliga giants are said to be planning ahead.
According to reports from France, Osimhen is under serious consideration by the Bayern hierarchy. The 25-year-old has rediscovered top form in Turkey, scoring 37 goals in 41 matches during his debut campaign with Galatasaray. Now in his second season, he has already netted 10 Süper Lig goals and added seven strikes in eight UEFA Champions League outings, including a decisive goal that secured the club’s place in the round of 16.
Galatasaray made Osimhen’s move permanent last summer in a Turkish record €75 million deal following a successful loan spell. He is contracted to the Istanbul side until June 2029, and club officials are reportedly keen to retain their star forward.
However, Bayern’s interest could test that resolve. Osimhen’s valuation—believed to be around €150 million—alongside his wage demands, may complicate negotiations for any suitor.
The striker, who previously starred for Napoli and Lille, has also spoken openly about his admiration for Juventus, revealing he would relish a return to Italy if the opportunity arose. Nevertheless, he has maintained that he remains fully committed to Galatasaray.
With Bayern preparing for all scenarios regarding Kane’s future, the coming months could prove decisive in determining whether Osimhen becomes the next high-profile arrival in Munich.
