Atiku Vows to Strengthen ADC, Build Strong Opposition in Bauchi

0

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) across all levels to reposition the party as a formidable opposition force in Bauchi State.

Atiku disclosed this after a closed-door meeting with a delegation of key ADC stakeholders from Bauchi, led by Alhaji Aminu Ahmed Yapeco, Sarkin Yakin Katagum. Yapeco later briefed journalists on the outcome of the engagement.

According to Atiku, the meeting provided an opportunity to assess the current state of the party in Bauchi and deliberate on strategies to strengthen its internal structures. He noted that discussions centred on identifying existing gaps within the party’s framework and proposing practical measures to promote unity, effectiveness, and improved performance.

He described the engagement as part of a broader effort to reposition the ADC as a credible and people-oriented alternative capable of effectively representing the aspirations of Bauchi residents.

“At this meeting, we carefully reviewed existing shortcomings, and I am fully committed to working hand in hand with party leaders at every level to build a strong, responsive, and effective opposition that truly represents the interests of Bauchi citizens,” Atiku said.

The visit highlights ongoing consultations among opposition figures as political parties intensify grassroots engagement and consolidate their structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
