Atiku Pledges Key Roles for Yoruba if Elected in 2027

National Grid: This is one collapse too many – Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has assured that the Yoruba ethnic group would occupy strategic positions in his government if elected president in 2027, insisting that fears of Hausa-Fulani domination under his leadership are unfounded.

Atiku, who is married to Titi Abubakar, an indigene of Ijesa in Osun State, described the Yoruba as “one of the finest species among humanity,” adding that the bond between him and the ethnic group goes beyond politics.

In a statement issued by his Media Consultant, Kola Johnson, the former Vice President stressed that the interest of the Yoruba would remain central to his policy direction and governance.

“It is for this reason that I count myself extremely lucky indeed to have had a wife from amongst this noble specie of the human race, which by this token implies that the bond uniting me together with the Yoruba is aptly like the genetic bond of a family,” Atiku said.

“The fear that my ascension to the Presidency might lead to Hausa/Fulani domination over Yoruba or other ethnic groups does not only arise, but also is absolutely unfounded, because the entire Yoruba stock are my larger extended family and in-laws,” he added.

Atiku emphasized that if given the mandate in 2027, the Yoruba would not only be protected but would also play prominent roles in shaping the country’s future.
