Atiku Deserves Nobel Prize for Political Persistence – Media Adviser

PDP Committee to screen Atiku’s running mate on Thursday

Paul Ibe, Media Adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, says his principal deserves a Nobel Prize for his relentless pursuit of Nigeria’s presidency.

Speaking on Trust TV’s Daily Politics on Thursday, Ibe rejected claims that Atiku has contested too many times, clarifying that the former VP has only been on the ballot three times—2007 (Action Congress), 2019 (PDP), and 2023 (PDP).

When reminded that Atiku had also been an aspirant in 2011 and 2015, Ibe quipped, “Atiku Abubakar should get a Nobel Prize for that,” insisting that his principal remains motivated by a deep sense of obligation to Nigeria.

He noted that Atiku, who rose from humble beginnings, benefitted greatly from the country through education, a career in the Customs Service, and later entrepreneurship. According to him, Atiku had become a billionaire before serving as Vice President in 1999 and even “single-handedly bought the PDP’s national headquarters, Wadata Plaza, in Abuja.”

Ibe stressed that Atiku’s repeated bids for the presidency stem from a conviction that he still has much to offer Nigeria.
