APC Will Reclaim Oyo in 2027, Tinubu’s Reforms Driving Momentum — Lam-Adesina

A former member of the House of Representatives, Dapo Lam-Adesina, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will regain control of Oyo State in the 2027 general election.

Lam-Adesina, who represented Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency from 2015 to 2019, made the assertion in a statement issued on Monday. He attributed the party’s growing national appeal to the reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu, noting that several opposition-controlled states have recently aligned with the ruling party at the federal level.

According to him, Oyo State cannot afford to remain outside the governing party at the centre, especially amid what he described as positive policy shifts and improved federal allocations to local governments.

“For nearly eight years, Oyo State has been in the opposition, and that does not bode well for us,” he said. “With the current trend across the country, we cannot afford to remain in the opposition beyond 2027.”

Lam-Adesina argued that governors and political stakeholders in other states have embraced the APC after assessing the impact of the President’s policies. He maintained that aligning with the Federal Government would position Oyo to benefit more from ongoing reforms and development initiatives.

He also highlighted the party’s recent online registration exercise and intensified grassroots mobilisation across the state’s 33 local government areas as part of strategic preparations for the next election cycle.

“The President’s reforms are speaking for themselves,” he stated. “For us in Oyo, we must leverage the administration’s good governance, particularly the increased funds allocated to local governments, to drive development at the grassroots and secure victory in 2027.”

On his political future, Lam-Adesina said consultations are ongoing with stakeholders within his constituency and across the state. He added that his supporters would soon be informed of his next political move ahead of the 2027 elections.
