The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the full list of its newly elected state executives following a congress held in Ibadan.
The congress took place on Tuesday at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Oke Ado, where party delegates from across the state gathered to elect new leaders.
In a statement issued shortly after the exercise, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Hon. Wasiu Olawale Sadare, said the emergence of the new officials followed extensive consultations among key stakeholders across the 33 local government areas of the state.
According to the list released by the party, a former deputy governor of the state was elected as Chairman. Taofeek Lamidi emerged as Deputy Chairman, while Barrister Fatai Adesina was elected as Secretary. Hon. Lukman Owonikoko will serve as Assistant Secretary.
At the senatorial level, Dr. Joshua Oyebamiji was elected as Oyo Central Senatorial Chairman, Hon. Mojeed Delesolu as Oyo South Senatorial Chairman, and Hon. Tunde Oloyede as Oyo North Senatorial Chairman.
Other key officers include Barr. Aborisade Sunday as Legal Adviser and Hon. Saheed Adeagbo as Assistant Legal Adviser. Hon. Lateef Ajiboye was elected Treasurer, with Hon. Saliu Dauda Adisa as Assistant Treasurer. Hon. Akanbi Tunde will serve as Financial Secretary, while Hon. Wale Adebayo was elected Assistant Financial Secretary.
Hon. Remi Adepoju emerged as Organising Secretary, with Chief Jide Leke as Assistant Organising Secretary. Hon. Olawale Sadare retained his position as Publicity Secretary, while Fafunmi Mathew was elected Assistant Publicity Secretary. Kamaldeen Nageri will serve as Assistant Welfare Officer.
Mrs. Tinuade Adigun was elected Auditor, alongside Hon. Christopher Idowu as Assistant Auditor. Mrs. Felicia Opatunde emerged as Women Leader, with Hon. Fatima Hassan as Deputy Women Leader.
The Youth Leader position went to Hon. Glory Olalekan, while Hon. Sayo Fatoki was elected Assistant Youth Leader. Jimoh Osundare was named representative for Persons Living with Disabilities.
For the senatorial women leadership positions, Mrs. Oyebode Yetunde will represent Oyo North, Mrs. Adefunke Adeoye will serve Oyo Central, and Mrs. Mojibade Adetona will represent Oyo South. Olalekan Olowe and Imran Ayinde Olona were elected as Oyo South and Oyo North Senatorial Youth Leaders, respectively.
The list also includes Akanmu Adebowale, Ejalonibu Fatai Aremu, Asimiyu Kolawole, and Odeyemi Simon Oladoyinbo as Ex-Officio members.
Party leaders expressed optimism that the new executive committee will strengthen internal cohesion and reposition the APC for future political engagements in Oyo State.
