Abuja — The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that the ruling party has begun extensive nationwide mobilisation efforts in preparation for the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence that it will secure victory at all levels.
Yilwatda made the remarks on Friday in Abuja during the inauguration of members of the party’s National Campaign Council for the 2026 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Councils election.
He said the APC was leaving no stone unturned in its strategy to consolidate support across the country.
“We are mobilising more than any other political party in Nigeria, and we are confident we will win the election,” Yilwatda stated.
According to him, the party’s mobilisation drive cuts across ethnic and regional lines, with APC governors from the six geo-political zones playing key roles in grassroots engagement. He noted that governors have deployed party leaders and agents to various communities to galvanise support among diverse groups nationwide.
Describing the appointment of campaign council members as a mark of trust and confidence in their loyalty, Yilwatda urged them to foster inclusive participation and provide leadership capable of attracting Nigerians from all backgrounds.
“This party is your home. We must open the space for inclusive participation and provide leadership that attracts Nigerians from every corner,” he said.
He characterised the forthcoming FCT Area Councils election as a strategic political contest that demands unity, coordination, and effective grassroots mobilisation across the six area councils.
The APC chairman also pointed to the influx of defectors from other political parties as evidence of growing national acceptance of the ruling party, adding that the upcoming council election presents an opportunity to reclaim lost ground and strengthen the party’s dominance in the FCT.
He disclosed that the campaign council would focus on aggressive voter mobilisation and the deployment of well-articulated strategies to ensure electoral success.
“The FCT belongs to all Nigerians. If we execute our strategies effectively and work as one united party, victory is assured,” Yilwatda said.
In his remarks, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who chairs the campaign council, pledged to deliver victory for the APC. He thanked the party leadership for the confidence reposed in the council members and assured that they would strengthen grassroots structures and mobilise voters to secure success in the election.
