A member of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tolu Bankole, has said opposition parties in Nigeria are not adequately prepared for the 2027 general elections.
Bankole made the remarks in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday, where he expressed confidence in the ruling party’s chances ahead of the next electoral cycle. According to him, the APC has continued to gain political momentum across the country through what he described as effective governance and strategic political engagements.
He also commended the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the party had outperformed its rivals both politically and in governance.
“The facts are undeniable and the evidence is overwhelming,” Bankole said. “The opposition is not just struggling; it is in complete disarray and facing an existential crisis as we approach the 2027 general elections.”
He further argued that opposition parties are currently grappling with internal crises and lack the unity and policy alternatives needed to mount a serious challenge against the ruling party.
Bankole maintained that the Tinubu administration is making progress in stabilising the economy, attracting investments, improving infrastructure and addressing security challenges across the country.
He added that under what he described as the president’s “visionary, decisive and transformative leadership,” the APC had not only outmanoeuvred its political opponents but had also strengthened its position ahead of future elections.
