A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Biodun Ajiboye, has cautioned Nigerians against the African Democratic Congress (ADC), warning that the country’s future could be endangered if citizens are not vigilant about the party.
Ajiboye gave the warning on Monday while speaking on Politics Today, a programme aired on Channels Television and monitored by DAILY POST.
According to him, Nigeria is currently grappling with widespread insecurity, including insurgency linked to groups such as ISIS and ISWAP, and should not be distracted by what he described as a “dangerous political coalition.”
“If Nigerians are not careful with these people called the ADC, they will destroy the future of Nigeria,” Ajiboye said.
He defended the federal government’s decision to engage public relations and lobbying services, arguing that such actions are legitimate tools used globally to manage complex national challenges.
“Is it wrong to employ the services of public relations experts? Is lobbying a criminal act?” he asked. “When a situation is getting worse and the channel of conviction is very narrow, you need experts to help break the ice.”
Ajiboye dismissed criticisms directed at the government, describing members of the ADC-led coalition as “wicked” and “evil,” and accused them of deliberately painting a negative picture of the country.
Reacting to claims about hunger and economic hardship in Nigeria, he questioned the motives behind the criticisms and justified the reported spending of millions of dollars on public relations.
“For God’s sake, we saved Nigeria from unjustifiable destruction that could have happened from one man whose actions cannot be predicted the next minute,” he said.
His comments come amid heightened political debates and emerging alliances ahead of future elections, with opposition parties intensifying criticism of the APC-led federal government.
